Never heard of Moxie Cola? Most people haven't. Here's why.
During the Great Depression, Coca-Cola launched a new campaign
and continued to promote its product. Sales doubled; Coke became
the #1
cola in the world.
At the same time, Moxie Cola, which at one time had outsold Coke,
cut
back promotion. Sales plunged. Today, Moxie is a boutique cola
only available in eastern New England.
Moral of the Story: In tough times, you must continue to promote
your business. Otherwise, when tough times are over, you might not
be in business.
